This day's focus is how to use the many resources available to you to teach Abraham Lincoln and Judge David Davis. Participants will choose their own schedule from a range of topics which include: Abe's 200th birthday celebration plans, discussions with Erin Bishop; Curator from Lincoln's Presidential Museum, tour of museum, reading strategies for non-fiction, artifacts in your classroom and tea in the parlor. Lunch provided. Maximum participants: 40.

We will give you tons of ideas and your challenge will be choosing the ones you like the most. Topics include everything from the geography of Illinois, Illinois poets, narrative writing, and products from Illinois. Lunch provided. Maximum participants: 24.
"I Teach Vietnam"

Come spend a day exploring A Turbulent Time: Perspectives of the Vietnam War exhibit, talking with colleagues, learning about free resources available, evaluate teaching strategies and visit with a panel of experts regarding Vietnam. This workshop is intended for secondary teachers as the content may not be appropriate for younger classrooms. This partnership is with ISU's Social Studies Symposium.
